Welcome to everyone who shares a love of crystals, spirituality, and nature.
I’m truly grateful to have been invited into this beautiful community and to have the opportunity to share my experiences, reflections, and the life lessons that have shaped my journey.
So, here’s Journal Entry 1B. Journal Entry 1A is still in the works because I was guided to first share where my true journey really began.
I hope my words resonate with those who are meant to read them.
The biggest questions we ask in life are: Who? What? When? Where? Why?… and sometimes, How?
So, how does this relate to my Journal Entry 1B?
Well, here goes…
Let’s start with the Who.
Hi, my name is Cheree. I’m a mum to two beautiful boys, a wife, a business owner, and a sheep farmer in regional NSW.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had what I jokingly call a little “whooo… whooo…” (insert spooky ghost noises and finger quotation marks here!). I’ve always sensed things that others couldn’t, and over the years I’ve learned to embrace that part of myself. I also consider myself an empath, so I tend to feel the energy and emotions of people and even places quite deeply.
This is where my story begins…
In the early 2000s, I was a soon-to-be mum in a toxic relationship. One day, I was walking past a beautiful little shop filled with stunning jewellery, meaningful gifts, and gorgeous crystals. Instantly, I was drawn to a large, oval shaped rainbow moonstone pendant. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. I bought it that day.
At the time, I had no idea that this pendant would become the beginning of my journey into crystals, their energetic properties, and the role they would eventually play in my life.
Now, to be fair, crystals weren’t entirely new to me. Like many of us, I’d collected those tiny polished pieces of agate, quartz, and even “gold”… well, fool’s gold… from the little gift shops at tourist landmarks on family holidays. But this felt different. This crystal chose me.
That pendant marked both the What and the When.
Now let’s talk about the Where.
The shop was a beautiful little sanctuary in Picton called Goddess Essentials. It was synonymous with all things spiritual. Crystals, incense, oracle cards, healings, readings… whatever your soul was searching for, chances are you could find it there. It became something of a spiritual landmark, and even today many people still speak fondly of the store and the beautiful woman behind it—Jennifer.
Jennifer was the owner and heart of Goddess Essentials. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle wisdom gave me a safe space to heal and reconnect with myself.
I’d actually known Jennifer through my parents’ produce store, so we were already acquainted. But the moment I stepped into Goddess Essentials, that connection grew into something much deeper. I found a lifelong friend, my soul sister… and my “wifey” (our affectionate nickname for each other).
Jennifer comes from what I like to think of as a lineage of goddesses, women who naturally carry healing energy and use their gifts to uplift those around them. If you haven’t already, I encourage you to read Jen’s journal entries, especially about Hyacinths for the Soul. They are filled with wisdom, compassion, and beautiful insights.
When Goddess Essentials eventually closed its doors, it left a huge void in the community. It wasn’t just a shop, it was a place of healing and connection. Seeing Jennifer now sharing her creations, knowledge, and guidance once again feels like such a blessing.
Now… enough rambling.
Let’s get to the Why.
Why was I so drawn to that rainbow moonstone?
Why did it appear at exactly that moment in my life?
Why did that one crystal feel so different?
In many spiritual traditions, rainbow moonstone is associated with the Divine Feminine. It is believed to represent intuition, new beginnings, inner wisdom, emotional healing, fertility, balance, and gentle transformation. It’s often seen as a reminder to trust your intuition, honour your emotions, and reconnect with your authentic self.
Looking back now, it makes perfect sense.
At that time, there was an overwhelming amount of masculine energy in my life. I had slipped into survival mode. I was carrying the financial load, working long hours, doing the heavy lifting( literally), and constantly putting everyone else’s needs before my own.
That pendant became a quiet reminder to reconnect with my feminine energy, to soften, to nurture myself, to create healthy boundaries, and to remember that my worth was never measured by how much I could carry for everyone else.
Most importantly, it helped me realise that I was beautiful, worthy, and enough… even when I felt broken, even as a newly single mum, and even when I couldn’t yet see my own light.
If you’re looking for a crystal to support your own journey back to yourself, have a chat with Jennifer. Whether it’s a tumbled stone, a chip bracelet, or a piece that seems to choose you, she’ll help you find what resonates.
And who knows…
Maybe your journey will begin with one beautiful crystal too.
Blessings and love
Cheree
