The Dream That Never Left
"I'm going to open a shop one day," I said.
"It will have crystals, jewellery and all the beautiful things that sparkle and make people feel good about themselves."
I was sitting beside my best friend at school when I first spoke those words aloud.
At the time, it felt like a dream.
The kind of dream many young people have about the future.
But some dreams never really leave us.
They stay quietly in the background.
Growing.
Waiting.
Becoming part of who we are.
For me, that dream was never simply about opening a shop.
It was about creating a place filled with beauty, creativity, connection and wonder.
A place where people could discover things that inspired them, lifted their spirits and reminded them of their own uniqueness.
Years later, that dream became reality.
I opened that shop.
And it was beautiful.
When the Dream Took Shape
That dream eventually became Goddess Essentials.
It was filled with crystals, jewellery, sparkle, colour, meaning and all the little treasures that made people light up when they walked through the door.
It became everything I had imagined and more.
It was highly awarded, deeply loved and celebrated.
But its greatest achievement was never the awards.
It was the people.
The conversations.
The friendships.
And the community that grew around it.
It became a place where people felt welcome to explore the things that brought them joy.
It was built upon a simple belief:
That beautiful things can bring inspiration, comfort, creativity and connection into our lives.
Within Goddess Essentials, another dream was also taking shape.
Enchantress Designs was created as the jewellery design and creation arm of the business.
Working with sterling silver and natural gemstones, I found joy in transforming ideas into pieces that could be worn, gifted and treasured for years to come.
Each design carried its own story.
Each gemstone its own individuality.
Each piece a small expression of creativity.
Looking back now, many of the values that continue to guide Enchantress Collective today were born during those years.
The importance of kindness.
The value of community.
The power of creativity.
The beauty of lifelong learning.
And the understanding that every person is walking their own unique path.
When Life Changes Direction
Life has a way of teaching us lessons we never expected to learn.
Some chapters arrive with excitement and celebration.
Others arrive with loss, uncertainty and change.
Like many people, I have experienced seasons where life did not unfold as planned.
Dreams changed.
Doors closed.
Plans shifted.
The chapter that was Goddess Essentials eventually came to an end.
There was grief.
Sadness.
Anger.
Hurt.
Depression.
Heartbreak.
Desperation.
And the heavy, aching feeling that I had failed.
Even though I had created something meaningful, successful and loved, its ending left a void I could not easily fill.
For a time, it felt as though something deeply important had been lost.
But growth rarely happens in comfort.
Often it is found in the moments that challenge us, much like the lotus that begins its journey beneath the surface, growing through murky waters before emerging into the light and unfolding into something beautiful.
Those difficult seasons can become the very experiences that strengthen us, deepen our understanding and help us grow into who we are meant to become.
The moments that ask us to reconsider who we are, what matters and where we wish to go next.
For me, it was never just a shop.
It was a part of me.
With time, I came to understand that although that chapter had ended, everything it had taught me, inspired in me and helped me become remained.
The dream had not ended.
It had simply taken a different path.
The lessons remained.
The creativity remained.
The passion remained.
The dream never disappeared.
It simply evolved.
Looking back now, I can see that the young girl who dreamed of opening a shop and the woman creating Enchantress Collective today are connected by the same values, but shaped by very different experiences.
The dream remained.
I simply grew alongside it.
One of the greatest lessons that journey has taught me is the importance of taking ownership of our story.
Where we came from.
What we have been through.
Where we are now.
And where we choose to go next.
Not every chapter unfolds the way we hope.
Not every dream follows the path we imagined.
But every experience has something to teach us if we are willing to learn from it.
For me, personal growth has never been about becoming someone different.
It has been about becoming more fully myself through the experiences that have shaped me.
And in many ways, Enchantress Collective is a reflection of that journey.
The Lotus
The lotus has become an important symbol within Enchantress Collective because it represents something I have come to understand through experience.
Growth is rarely a straight line.
The lotus begins its journey beneath the surface, emerging through challenging conditions before eventually unfolding into something beautiful.
Across many cultures, it has long been regarded as a symbol of rebirth, renewal and transformation, reminding us that even after periods of difficulty, growth and new beginnings are always possible.
For me, it represents resilience, wisdom, transformation and personal growth.
It serves as a reminder that difficult seasons are not the end of our story.
They are often the chapters that shape us most profoundly.
Enchantress Collective is not a return to the past.
It is a rebirth from it.
It carries the lessons, experiences, challenges and growth that could only come from living through those chapters and finding the courage to begin again.
The lotus reminds me that beauty can emerge from challenge and that every ending holds the possibility of a new beginning.
A Hyacinth for the Soul
One of the most cherished philosophies within our family came from my great-grandmother.
Whenever she was feeling weary, discouraged or simply in need of a lift to her spirit, she would seek out what she called a "Hyacinth for the Soul."
Hyacinths were her favourite flower.
Their beauty, fragrance and presence always seemed to brighten her day and lift her spirits.
Over time, the phrase came to mean much more than flowers.
A Hyacinth for the Soul could be anything that nourished the heart, inspired the mind or brought joy to the spirit.
A meaningful gift.
A beautiful object.
A new book.
A conversation with a friend.
A favourite place.
A moment of learning.
A quiet walk.
A treat to eat.
A treasured keepsake.
A small act of kindness.
The women in my family have carried this philosophy through generations.
It reminds us that caring for ourselves is often found not in grand gestures, but in simple moments of beauty, curiosity, creativity and connection.
This philosophy sits quietly at the heart of Enchantress Collective.
Because personal growth is not only about overcoming challenges.
It is also about discovering the things that nourish us, inspire us and help us reconnect with ourselves along the way.
In many ways, Enchantress Collective itself has become a Hyacinth for my soul.

Enchantress Collective was born from everything that came before.
The dream.
